ARM the ARTIST
  • Coming Soon
"Where do I find the time? Where do I start? What do I do after I start??? This is giving me a headache...”

THE ARMING PROCESS

ARM the ARTIST focuses on three aspects of your art practice...
  • evaluating  your information infrastructure, then upgrading it
  • identifying  your specific niche in the art marketplace, establishing a strategy around that niche
  • growing your audience and creating greater opportunity to sell your work  by deploying campaigns based on that strategy
...more simply, we sort our your stuff, fire up your friends n' followers and expose your work continuously (relentlessly) to a larger and larger audience.

Organizing Your Contacts

Who do you know? Why do you know them and who might they know who will be interested in knowing you?

ARM the ARTIST helps by:

  • finding clusters of people in your audience who approach your work in a similar and meaningful way
  • establishing relationships within and across these clusters, looking for opportunities where the folks in your audience speak with each other about your work
  • pinpointing influential audience members who will champion your artwork, passing it along to the folks who follow them
...in english, starting with your current audience, we figure out who likes your work best and why. Using this we go out and find more folks like them, and get them to like you and your work.

Organizing your Digital Assets

Our goal is to cull and collect all your images, video, text, stories, press, labelling each item in a fashion that makes them readily available. These labels also bind each item to the person, place, event to which they apply.
ARM the ARTIST helps. We:
  • find images, text you forgot you had and never knew might be useful
  • quantify, qualify and make your assets ready for use, at a moment's notice
  • fit your assets to the specific need when each new opportunity presents itself, "make once, use many"
  • quickly sort between the imaging and messaging that supports you (your brand) and those that don't

...basically, we clean up that pile of stuff that's been sitting in the corner for years. We organize, arrange and prepare your pictures n' things to be at the ready to pounce on a new opportunity the minute it arrives. We also take the new stuff you generate and arrange and file it properly.

Expanding Your Audience and Opportunities

As we build intelligence into your ARM, we will begin to see why you have specific relationships, allowing us to find new relationships you may never have known existed.....
  • who you already know, what you are saying to them, why and what's working or not
  • who you'd like to know, and what you'd like to say to them, why
  • who you don't know and what opportunities you are missing
...marketing you and your work continuously affords us the opportunity to keep an eye out for new opportunities. We constantly explore the art marketplace for all our clients and bring our findings to each.

Campaign Strategy

Honing your Message

Artists are natural sales people. You've been marketing and selling since the first time you hung a painting on a wall. What's worked? What's your "pitch", your tone? Has what you've said matched what your audience is listening for? Can we alter, augment, expand upon and segment your pitch so that it reaches those who've been sold, and those remaining unaware of your work, so far?
ARM The ARTIST:
  • matches your message to the audience, adapts your message to meet the expectations of each audience cluster
  • adjusts your message to the channel through which we send your message
  • measures the reception of the message by those you'd have hear it
  • maintains your message, while keeping the you in you
Mapping out your Opportunities

Your work in context. Your current audience helps define this context, e.g.
  • Has your work been bought by a similar type of client?
  • Do you attract a particular type of audience?
  • Have you been singing opera at the jazz club?
  • Were you aware that there was a whole group of people hoping they'd find something just like the thing you make?
  • Can you prioritize your "venues", local, national, global?
Trying to sell landscapes to someone who likes portraits may work from time to time, but trying to sell sculpture to someone trying to add life to a lifeless spot on a wall... it's kind of a waste of time, no? A good opportunity is finding that person who enjoys your type of work, a great opportunity is finding that person who has bought something like yours before.

campaign Deployment

Look at your ARM the ARTIST Program as a series of ad campaigns, one ongoing and then others that take advantage of opportunities.

An ongoing campaign is designed to keep you and your work top of mind, continuously in a none interruptive manner. We look to find re-promoters, audience members who see your posts and repost them to their own followers. We constantly amplify this activity relying on a larger audience leading to more sales.

More specific campaigns are crafted around specific opportunities and events: the announcement of new work, typical sales holidays, shows you participate in.... or you get press, or are involved in your community. There are as many ideas for campaigns as there are artists.

Regardless of the type or focus of a campaign, the ARM The ARTIST approach calls for a cycle of Test, Release, Assess, Redeploy to continually tweak the value of each Campaign.

CoaCh, Train, Collaborate

Although ARM the ARTIST is designed to take the day to day drudgery off your hands, we do not work in a vacuum. ARM the ARTIST ensures that your outbound communications are continuous, focussed and efficient, we work with you on inbound.

We will train you on where and when to look for opportunities to respond to and augment social media streams. ARM the ARTIST will send you reminders if we feel you're not responding in time and will coach you on how to carry on "the conversation". It's very important that outbound, inbound and responses remain in your "voice"; from your audience's perspective, ARM the ARTIST doesn't even exist.
"We'll guide you rather than steer you. In many ways we're like your personal agent, your personal promotions assistant. It's our mission to get your work seen, constantly"
